It all begins with an idea…

The design of the space is intended to invite all to restore harmony between the Nation's members and move from cultural resiliency to a culture that is flourishing in MCN's traditional teachings of respect, truth, honour, bravery, wisdom, honesty, and love for all.

The misipawistik isihtwawina guiding principles were given to the people of Misipawistik Cree Nation by the creator. With the help of Elders, leaders and knowledge keepers, the principles are now documented to help inform community initiatives, and create guidelines for conduct and decision making in MCN.
The team of community members, kanawenihcikew, Elders and researchers visually rooted the principles through a traditional MCN beaded flower pattern. The five petal flower is synonymous with the territory and provided a way to represent misipawistik isihtwawina.
